Reconciled By God and Unto God
Jesus

Because of some storms I had to shut down the computer and work this morning which gave me a wonderful opportunity to have some time with my own studies and spent some quality time with the Lord. I began my study in Colossians and really began to pray and ponder the word Reconcile. In my own primitive, human way I hope I can shed some light on the true mercy and grace of understanding how this works and we humans can't puff up within ourselves because we can't do a thing to earn what God did. Of course we all say we know this yet how great a God He is and for us to have any understanding or enlightenment to The Word He too gave us. We come by knowledge by Him only when He enlightens us to Him as He quickens the Holy Spirit in us as to who and what He is.

I'm going to put this on a human level and I speak from experience of my own and only have a little glimpse into this magnificent word Reconciled. Make no mistake...I am not comparing my nature to God nor am I pretending to be self righteous. I am a sinner saved by His doing and grace. This is simply how I know to explain this.

I am certain in your life's experience you have been wounded and hurt by someone. The wound and the hurt I am talking about goes much deeper than someone just talking about us behind our backs or lying and bringing false witness. I am asking if someone has literally hurt you so deep and to the very core of who and what you are that the pain was unbearable. You want to just cut the pain out. What do you do with this kind of pain? When we sinned against God we literally hurt Him that deeply. Back to the human level. With this person who hurt us beyond words we put them at a distance and keep them so far from us to keep the individual away from that pain. Away from the physical body and our spirit because they create within us such a foreboding and spiritual war which goes against our spirit and the grain because of their destructive spirit they have on them we can't stand to be in their presence. Yet, as Christians, if our hearts are truly God's, it is not in us to do harm yet we battle the flesh and that pain just keeps rearing up in us if it were possible we would cut it out to feel nothing. They become bile within us. Their name is stricken from the walls and memory of the living. Yet, the nature of the true heart of God needs to deal with this in the spiritual realm. As Christians we having the nature of God in us, the Holy Spirit requires us to confront this pain. Alone, we deal with it. The will of a person will triumph and do right or wrong. But with our God, He is pure and had a plan ready...Jesus. We humans through Him can pray and ask for Him to intervene in our heartache and pain. God did not include man in His decision of reconciling. Jesus, within Himself, loved us and came to die for us in all we had done to Him from the very beginning of time. We in the flesh, when we are hurt, determine one way or another how we will deal with a person or persons, the situations and the pain. When we can reconcile it within ourselves we do not include the person who harmed us. We do this within ourselves. We determine what and how we want to master or be mastered by our circumstances. The person that harmed us is not involved in this part of the process. We have the Heavenly Father and the promises He gave us through His Son Jesus that He would intercede and we pray. It is between us and God. He assists and comes to our rescue. We have Him but it was different with God.

We humans were not involved in this process with God of being reconciled. God in Jesus Christ was reconciling the world unto Himself. God had not changed. He had always loved the world but was man changed. It continued to be sinful and rebellious against God. But by the death of Jesus the relationship between God and the world was changed.. The barrier because of sin had to be taken away judicially, enabling God to show His mercy where judgment was deserved. This reconciliation was accomplished by God alone. God came full force in His nature and His love that regardless of what man has done He prepared a way to reconcile man unto Himself and He provided that through being the living, walking sacrifice to take all the sins of all we had done upon Himself because He loved us. Not because we loved Him. His full and complete love toward us that while we were yet sinners He came to earth and died at Calvary, rebuilt and was raised from the dead to make it a complete...it is finished work of being reconciled to Him by Him. We didn't add one thing to that decision. That He took on Himself for us in truth and in love. So we are hurt and ponder this hurt and determine to reconcile our enemies unto ourselves because we have the Holy Spirit of God within us. We are nothing and can accomplish nothing with ourselves without Him. So regardless of what the person has done to us, we having the right nature within us, reconcile that person unto us and they had nothing to do with it. We thank God He gave us the right spirit, the Holy Spirit dwelling in us so we can be free. Therefore, saying all of that...man merited favor with God and by God alone and not of ourselves through Jesus, the living sacrifice who willingly laid His life down when we continually sinned against Him. We placed the gap of destruction and deserved to bust hell wide open. God reconciled us without our having one thing to do with it. But there is more...

How wonderful would it be for the person who has damaged our heart, mind, soul and spirit would come and say I know how much I have wronged you. I know what I have done and how I tried to destroy you. I know the pain I caused you and keep causing you and I am sorry and I am going to stop now and ask you to forgive me and do what it takes to set things right with you. Your heart would leap from your breast with joy unspeakable and the glory of all you had gone through would be gone and all things would be set right. That is where we reconcile unto Him. He already reconciled unto us and now we reconcile unto Him. It is no wonder that He tells us that all of Heaven rejoices when one sinner comes unto Him. It is not just a moment in time but it is for eternity. What we bind on earth we bind in Heaven. This is not turning over a temporary new leaf. This is a complete heart circumcision. A total change of the old nature and putting on the new. As you watch your enemy grow more and more in the forgiveness that is extend to them the more you are willing to extend yourself. You watch their fruit. God sees us complete. As He says He began a good work in you and He will complete it. We must be willing subjects. Therefore God had already reconciled us unto Him and for us to be reconciled unto Him we need to repent and turn from our ways. Some think it is all about our works. No, He forgave us while we were yet sinners. We couldn't possibly have done a thing to reconcile our human nature to God's nature. It is not until we are given the Spirit of God by God when we repent and ask the Lord to come into us and save us that we receive the Holy Spirit in us and take on the nature of God and become His can that occur. He loved us before we ever thought about Him. How can and how do we all neglect so great a salvation and love. We do! We grieve the Holy Spirit by still hurting Him with our actions and deeds. Now I ask you this...if the person that came to us and asked and we rejoiced so much within our hearts to have them again turn from us and begin again to do the same things would your soul not agonize over their decision? Yes! But would it change the facts? No! Would it grieve your heart to the core? Yes! Would you walk away again and place a gap that could not be mended between you and them? God forbid! Why? Because we as humans will continually do this but it doesn't change the heart nor what Jesus did at Calvary. God is not an Indian giver. He does not take the GIFT OF SALVATION from you because of you. HE RECONCILED US AND THE WHOLE WORLD UNTO HIM and we didn't have a thing to do with that and when we asked HE GAVE IT WILLINGLY. You can not out do God in any of your efforts right or wrong. God is God! The person that harmed you does you wrong again can they, with their actions, change who your are? NO! Are there consequences, of course! For every action there is a reaction. A Universal Law! To whom God loves God chastens. We will not willingly sin and be God's child without the consequences. We do reap the harvest we plant.

Unto Him, Jesus, was given all power...ALL POWER over death, hell, sin and the grave. What can we do to add one thing to that or take anything of that away? You can't change the mind of God nor His character. We can only change ours. We were given free will. This love, this incredible love He has for us to have reconciled us unto Himself is God's Character and Nature. You can work yourself to death doing good in this world but if you haven't reconciled yourself unto Him and come unto Him you will never partake of the promises nor the inheritance given by Jesus. That is like a stranger going to a rich man and asking him to be placed in his will and get all the promises and inheritance of his family and children and the man doesn't even know you. Or trying to sneak into a family thinking you are going to pull off deceiving them when your attributes and ways are going to give you away. You will be culled out and spotted as not really being a part of the true family. As the Bible says "You shall know them by their fruit." That's like a farmer walking through his planted fields of wheat and spots a corn stalk. Think he isn't going to notice? We'd get pulled out by the root immediately! Jesus did not want us to get what we deserved. He provided through His love a way to bridge the gap between our sins and Him. His own blood! We are not capable of adding a thing to that. We can only come to the Cross and ask to be forgiven because He loves us so much He came to earth to live with all we live with. He faced the same trials of temptation. He faced deceit, betrayal, mocking, torture, scorn, was called a liar and a devil by the righteous. The world could have cared less until the righteous started stirring up trouble and brought it to the attention of the world. Then everyone was involved and everyone crucified Him. Everyone wants to blame the Jews. Well we all did it and we continue to do it by not accepting so great a Salvation provided for us. We still try to play the parts and act out. Do we really believe we can justify ourselves to God? Do we really believe that times have changed and God is more accepting now? He tells us that He is the same yesterday, today and forever! God has not changed His mind! Regardless of color, nationality, religion, education, He Died For Us All! But it doesn't stop there! He was seen by over 500 people after He was resurrected I don't care what spin the world puts on it. He is alive and sitting at the right hand of the Father making intercession for us! I didn't get passed verse 20 in my study today because I needed to write. I prayed for as much as my feeble human mind could understand and absorb.

Verse 16 of Colossians says "For by Him were all things created, that are in Heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities or powers---all things were created by Him, and for Him; 17: "And He is before all things, and by Him all things consist. 18: And He is the head of the body, the church; who is the beginning, the first-born from the dead, that in all things He might have the pre-eminence. 19: "For it pleased the Father that in Him should all fullness dwell; 20: And, having made peace through the blood of His Cross, by Him to reconcile all things unto Himself--by Him. I say, wither they be things in earth, or things in Heaven.." We didn't earn it. Salvation and reconciled is unmerited favor. It Is JESUS...THE BEGINNING AND THE END!

Be blessed with all my heart!
